About the girl behind the apron…
Hi there, my name’s Rossi! I’m originally from Charleston, SC, but I’m currently spending the year working in food security and anti-hunger in Milwaukee, WI, where my thin southern blood is constantly trying to acclimate to the cold. Ever since I was little, I’ve loved cooking, especially baking, and I’ve been trying out new recipes again and again for as long as I can remember. In doing so, I would always cover the kitchen in sugar and flour, much to my mom’s dismay.
Not only do I love to bake, but I’m also devoted to nutrition and healthy eating. Through lots (and lots) of trial and error, I’ve learned to combine these two passions and have now become what I like to call a “healthy baker”… most of the time.
It isn’t always pretty. My muffins are sometimes more like rocks, and often more batter makes it onto my clothes than into the pan (see the above picture). But there are also plenty of successes along the way, and those are the recipes and stories that I hope to share with you here. So preheat the oven, bust out your spatula, and tie your apron, because we’re about to have some fun in the kitchen.
